MULCH
When most folks think of mulch, they usually envision a product like our dark fir mulch. As dark as it can get without added dyes* or chemicals, this aged bark product adds nutrients to your soil as it breaks down.
However, the purpose of mulch is to help hold moisture in, protect the soil from erosion, suppress weeds, and moderate temperature extremes. Technically, any bark (or even rock) can achieve those objectives, so feel free to come browse our selection of all-natural products!
* Most "black mulch" is color enhanced, and the color is only guaranteed for a year. Dyed wood mulch does not break down to enrich the soil as good mulch should. Instead, it leaches the dye along with the possible contaminants (chromium, copper, arsenic, and others) into the soil harming or killing beneficial soil bacteria, insects, earthworms, and sometimes the plants themselves.
We are committed to carrying all- natural, chemical and dye-free, high-quality products!
